The Sayings of Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه و سلم)

HADITH NO.1

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: When the Prophet got up at night to offer the Tahajjud prayer, he used to say: Allahumma lakal-hamd. Anta qaiyimus-samawati wal-ard wa man fihinna. Walakal-hamd, Laka mulkus-samawati wal-ard wa man fihinna. Walakal-hamd, anta nurus-samawati wal-ard. Walakalhamd, anta-l-haq wa wa’duka-lhaq, wa liqa’uka Haq, wa qualuka Haq, wal-jannatu Han wan-naru Haq wannabiyuna Haq. Wa Muhammadun, sallal-lahu’alaihi wasallam, Haq, was-sa’atu Haq. Allahumma aslamtu Laka wabika amantu, wa ‘Alaika tawakkaltu, wa ilaika anabtu wa bika khasamtu, wa ilaika hakamtu faghfir li ma qaddamtu wama akh-khartu wama as-rartu wama’a lantu, anta-l-muqaddim wa anta-l-mu akh-khir, la ilaha illa anta (or la ilaha ghairuka). (O Allah! All the praises are for you, You are the Holder of the Heavens and the Earth, And whatever is in them. All the praises are for You; You have the possession of the Heavens and the Earth And whatever is in them. All the praises are for You; You are the Light of the Heavens and the Earth And all the praises are for You; You are the King of the Heavens and the Earth; And all the praises are for You; You are the Truth and Your Promise is the truth, And to meet You is true, Your Word is the truth And Paradise is true And Hell is true And all the Prophets (Peace be upon them) are true; And Muhammad is true, And the Day of Resurrection is true. O Allah ! I surrender (my will) to You; I believe in You and depend on You. And repent to You, And with Your help I argue (with my opponents, the non-believers) And I take You as a judge (to judge between us). Please forgive me my previous And future sins; And whatever I concealed or revealed And You are the One who make (some people) forward And (some) backward. There is none to be worshipped but you . Sufyan said that `Abdul Karim Abu Umaiya added to the above, ‘Wala haula Wala quwata illa billah’ (There is neither might nor power except with Allah).

HADITH NO.2 

Narrated Salim’s father: In the lifetime of the Prophet whosoever saw a dream would narrate it to Allah’s Apostle. I had a wish of seeing a dream to narrate it to Allah’s Apostle (p.b.u.h) I was a grown up boy and used to sleep in the Mosque in the lifetime of the Prophet. I saw in the dream that two angels caught hold of me and took me to the Fire which was built all round like a built well and had two poles in it and the people in it were known to me. I started saying, I seek refuge with Allah from the Fire. Then I met another angel who told me not to be afraid.

HADITH  NO.3

Narrated Jundab: The Prophet became sick and did not get up (for Tahajjud prayer) for a night or two.

HADITH NO.4

Narrated Jundab bin `Abdullah: Gabriel did not come to the Prophet (for some time) and so one of the Quraish women said, His Satan has deserted him. So came the Divine Revelation: By the forenoon And by the night When it is still! Your Lord (O Muhammad) has neither Forsaken you Nor hated you. (93.1-3)

HADITH NO.5

Narrated Um Salama: One night the Prophet got up and said, Subhan Allah! How many afflictions Allah has revealed tonight and how many treasures have been sent down (disclosed). Go and wake the sleeping lady occupants of these dwellings up (for prayers), perhaps a well dressed in this world may be naked in the Hereafter.

HADITH NO.6

Narrated `Ali bin Abi Talib: One night Allah’s Apostle came to me and Fatima, the daughter of the Prophet and asked, Won’t you pray (at night)? I said, O Allah’s Apostle! Our souls are in the hands of Allah and if He wants us to get up He will make us get up. When I said that, he left us without saying anything and I heard that he was hitting his thigh and saying, But man is more quarrelsome than anything. (18.54)

HADITH NO.7

Narrated `Aisha the mother of the faithful believers: One night Allah’s Apostle offered the prayer in the Mosque and the people followed him. The next night he also offered the prayer and too many people gathered. On the third and the fourth nights more people gathered, but Allah’s Apostle did not come out to them. In the morning he said, I saw what you were doing and nothing but the fear that it (i.e. the prayer) might be enjoined on you, stopped me from coming to you. And that happened in the month of Ramadan.

HADITH NO .8 

Narrated Al-Mughira: The Prophet used to stand (in the prayer) or pray till both his feet or legs swelled. He was asked why (he offered such an unbearable prayer) and he said, should I not be a thankful slave.

HADITH NO .9

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Amr bin Al-`As: Allah’s Apostle told me, The most beloved prayer to Allah is that of David and the most beloved fasts to Allah are those of David. He used to sleep for half of the night and then pray for one third of the night and again sleep for its sixth part and used to fast on alternate days.

HADITH NO .10

Narrated `Aisha: In my house he (Prophet (p.b.u.h) ) never passed the last hours of the night but sleeping.

 

HADITH NO.1

Jabir b. ‘Abdullah (Allah be pleased with them) reported that he was travelling on his camel which had grown jaded, and he decided to let it off. When Allah’s Apostle ﷺ met him and prayed for him and struck it, so it trotted as it had never trotted before. He said: Sell it to me for an ‘uqaya. I said: No. He again said: Sell it to me. So I sold it to him for an ‘uqaya, but made the stipulation that I should be allowed to ride back to my family. Then when I came to (my place) I took the camel to him and he paid me its price in ready money. I then went back and he sent: (someone) behind me (and as I came) he said: Do you see that I asked you to reduce price for buying your camel. Take your camel and your coins;
these are yours.

HADITH NO.2

Anas reported: Bilal was commanded (by the Apostle of Allah) to repeat (the phrases of) Adhan twice and once in Iqama. The narrator said: I made a mention of it before Ayyub who said: Except for saying: Qamat-is-Salat [the time for prayer has come].

HADITH NO.3

A’isha reported: When anyone amongst us (amongst the wives of the Holy Prophet) menstruated, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked her to tie a waist-wrapper over her (body) and then embraced her.

HADITH NO.4

Humran, the freed slave of ‘Uthman, said: Uthman b. ‘Affan called for ablution water and this is how he performed the ablution. He washed his hands thrice. He then rinsed his mouth and cleaned his nose with water (three times). He then washed his face three times, then washed his right arm up to the elbow three times, then washed his left arm like that, then wiped his head;
then washed his right foot up to the ankle three times, then washed his left foot like that, and then said: I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform ablution like this ablution of mine. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He who performs ablution like this ablution of mine and then stood up (for prayer) and offered two rak’ahs of prayer without allowing his thoughts to be distracted, all his previous sins are expiated. Ibn Shihab said: Our scholars remarked: This is the most complete of the ablutions performed for prayer.

HADITH NO.5

A hadith like this has been narrated on the authority of ‘Ubaidullah, but he made no mention of the words of Ubaidullah that he said to Nafi’.

HADITH NO.6

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of ‘Ubaidullah with the same chain of transmitters. but with a slight variation of words.

HADITH NO.7

‘Umara reported: I heard Abd Sa’id al-Khudri as saying that he had heard Allah’s Messenger ﷺ make (this) observation with a gesture of his five fingers, and then he narrated the hadith as transmitted by ‘Uyaina (hadith 2134).

HADITH NO.8

A hadith like this is reported on the authority of Muhammad son of Fatima (Allah be pleased with her) daughter of Allah’s Messenger ﷺ.

HADITH NO.9

Abu Talha reported: While We were sitting in front of the houses and talking amongst ourselves, Allah’s Messenger ﷺ happened to come there. He stood by us and said: What about you apd your meetings on the paths? Avoid these meetings on the paths. We said: We were sitting here without (any intention of doing harm to the passers-by) ;
we are sitting to discuss matters and to hold conversation amongst ourselves. Thereupon he said: If there is no help (for you but to sit on these paths), then give the paths their rights and these are lowering of the gaze, exchanging of greetings and good conversation.

HADITH NO.10

Abu Talha reported: While We were sitting in front of the houses and talking amongst ourselves, Allah’s Messenger ﷺ happened to come there. HADITH NO.1

Jabir bin Yazid bin Al-Aswad Al Amir told us that his father said:

“I attended Fajr prayer with the Messenger of Allah ﷺin Masjid Al Khaif. When he finished praying, he saw two men at the back of the people who had not prayed with him. He said: ‘Bring them here.’ So they were brought to him, trembling. He said: ‘What kept you from praying with us? They said: ‘0 Messenger of Allah ﷺ we has already prayed in our lodgings.’ He said: ‘Do not do that. If you have already prayed in your lodgings, then you come to a Masjid in which there is a
congregation, then pray with them, and it will be a voluntary prayer for you.”‘

HADITH NO.2

It was narrated from ‘Ubaidullah bin ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar that his father said:

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about water and how some animals and carnivorous beasts might drink from it. He said: ‘If the water is more than two Qullahs, it will not become filthy.'”

HADITH NO .3

Shu’bah said:

“Sayyar bin Salamah, narrated to us, he said: ‘I heard my father ask Abu Barzah about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.’ I said: ‘Did you really hear him?’ He said: ‘As I can hear you now.’ He said: ‘I heard my father ask about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.’ He said: ‘He would not mind if he delayed it – meaning ‘Isha’ until midnight, and he did not like to sleep before it or speak after it.'” Shu’bah said: “Then I met him later on and asked him. He said: ‘He used to pray Zauhr when the sun had passed its zenith, and (he would pray) ‘Asr and a man could walk to the farthest point in Al-Madinah and the sun would still be clear and hot. And Maghrib, I do not know the time he mentioned.’ After that I met him and asked him, and he said: ‘He used to pray Fajr then after the prayer a man could regarding it, sitting next to him, look at the face of someone he knew and he could recognize it.’ He said: ‘And he used to recite in it between sixty and one hundred (verses).'”

HADITH NO.4

It was narrated that Hudhaifah said:

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Allah (Subhanahu-wa-Taala) sent astray from Friday those who came before us, so the Jews had Saturday and the Christians had Sunday. Then Allah (Subhanahu-wa-Taala), the Mighty and Sublime, brought us and guided us to Friday, so there is Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and thus they will follow us on the Day of Resurrection. We are the last of the people of this world but the first on the Day of Resurrection for whom judgment will be passed before all other creatures.’

HADITH NO.5

‘Abdur-Rahman bin Abu ‘Atiq said:

“My father told me: ‘I heard ‘Aishah say, (narrating) from the Prophet ﷺ: “Siwak is a means of purification for the mouth and is pleasing to the Lord.”

HADITH NO.6

It was narrated that Ibrahim said:

“I used to recite Qur’an to my father on the road, and if I recited a verse in which prostration was required, he would prostrate. I said: ‘O my father, do you prostrate on the street?’ He said: ‘I heard Abu Dharr say: “I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: ‘Which Masjid was built first?’ He said: ‘Al-Masjid Al-Haram.’ [1] I said: ‘Then which?’ He said: ‘Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa.’ [2] I said: ‘How long was there between them?’ He said: ‘Forty years. And the earth is a Masjid (or a place of prostration) for you, so wherever you are when the time for prayer comes, pray.'”

HADITH NO.7

Shu’bah said:

HADITH NO.8

It was narrated that Mutarrif bin ‘Abdullah said:

“Ali bin Abi Talib prayed, and he said the takbir every time he went down and came up, in all movements of the prayer. ‘Imran bin Husain said: ‘This reminds me of the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.'”

HADITH NO.9

It was narrated that Abu Masud said:

“The Messenger of Allahﷺsaid: ‘Let the one who has most knowledge of the Book of Allah lead the people in prayer. If they are equal in terms of knowledge of the Qur’h, let the one who emigrated first (lead them). If they are equal in terms of emigration, let the one who has more knowledge of the Sunnah, (lead them). If they are equal in terms of knowledge of the Sunnah, let the one who is oldest (lead them). Do not lead a man in prayer in his place of authority, and do not sit in his place of honor, unless he
gives you permission.”‘

HADITH NO.10

It was narrated from Umayyah bin ‘Abdullah bin Khalid that:

He said to ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar: “We find (mention of) prayer when one is at home (i.e., not traveling) and prayer at times of fear in the Qur’an, but we do not find any mention in the Qur’an of prayer when traveling. Ibn Umar said to him: ‘O son of my brother, Allah (Subhanahu-wa-Taala) send Muhammad ﷺ to us when we did not know anything, and all we should do is to do that which we saw Muhammad ﷺ doing.'”

HADITH NO.1

Amr al-Amiri said:

I (once) attended the meeting of the companions of the Messenger of Allahﷺ. They began to discuss his prayer. Abu Humaid then narrated a part of the same tradition and said: When he bowed he clutched his knees with his palms, and he opened his fingers; then he bent his back without raising his upwards, and did not turn his face (on any side). When he sat at the end of two rak’ahs he sat on the sole of his left foot and raised the right, and after the fourth he placed his left hip on the ground and spread out both his feet one side.

HADITH NO.2

‘Amr al-Amiri said:

HADITH NO.3

Narrated ‘Aishah:

The Prophet ﷺ would pray two rak’ahs before the dawn prayer lightly so much so that I would say: Did he recite Surah al-Fatihah in them.

HADITH NO.4

Narrated Samurah ibn Jundub:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to order us to pay the sadaqah (zakat) on what we prepared for trade.

HADITH NO.5

Narrated Ayyub:

‘Umar b. ‘Abd al-‘Aziz wrote (a letter) to the people of Basrah: It has reached us from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, like the tradition narrated by Ibn ‘Umar from the Prophet ﷺ. This version adds: The best calculation is that when we sight the moon of Sha’ban on such-and-such date, fasting will being on such-and-such dates, Allah willing, except they they sight the moon before that (date).

HADITH NO.6

Narrated Imran ibn Husayn:

The Prophet ﷺ said: A section of my community will continue to fight for the right and overcome their opponents till the last of them fights with the Antichrist.

HADITH NO.7

Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu’minin:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to count the days in Sha’ban in a manner he did not count any other month; then he fasted when he sighted the new moon of Ramadan; but if the weather was cloudy he counted thirty days and then fasted.

HADITH NO.8

Narrated AbuHurayrah:

The Prophet ﷺ said: The adulterer who has been flogged shall not marry save the one like him. AbuMa’mar said: Habib al-Mu’allim narrated (this tradition) to us on the authority of Amr ibn Shu’ayb.

HADITH NO.9

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah:

The Prophet ﷺ sacrificed two horned rams which were white with black markings and had been castrated. When he made them face the qiblah, he said: I have turned my face towards Him. Who created the heavens and the earth, following Abraham’s religion, the true in faith, and I am not one of the polytheists. My prayer, and my service of sacrifice, my life and my death are all for Allah, the Lord of the Universe, Who has no partner. That is what I was commanded to do, and I am one of the Muslims. O Allah it comes from Thee and is given to Thee from Muhammad and his people. In the name of Allah, and Allah is Most Great. He then made sacrifice.

HADITH NO.10

Narrated Jabir:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: Sacrifice only a full-grown animal unless it is difficult for you, in which case sacrifice a lamb.

HADITH NO.1

Ali said: Al-Witr is not incumbent like your obligatory prayers, but it is a Sunnah of Allah’s Messenger who said: Indeed Allah is Witr (One), and He loves Al-Witr, so perform Al-Witr O people of the Qur’an.

HADITH NO.2

Sufyan Ath-Thawri and others reported from Abu Ishaq, from Asim bin Damrah, that : Ali said: Al-Witr is not incumbent like the status of the obligatory prayers, but it is a Sunnah which Allah’s Messenger practiced.

HADITH NO.3

Abu Hurairah narrated: Allah’s Messenger ordered me to perform Al-Witr before sleeping.

HADITH NO.4

Masruq narrated that : he asked Aishah about the Witr of the Prophet. She said: He would perform Witr during all of the night; (either) its beginning, its middle, or its end. So when he died, his Witr ended, during the approachof As-Sahar.

HADITH NO.5

Umm Salamah narrated: The Prophet would perform Witr with thirteen [Rak’ah]. When he was older and became weak he performed Witr with seven.

HADITH NO.6

Aishah narrated: The night prayer of Allah’s Messenger was thirteen Rak’ah, five of which were his Witr, not sitting in any of them except at the end of them. When the Mu’adh-dhin called the Adhan he would stand to perform two light (Rak’ah).

HADITH NO.7

Ali narrated: Allah’s Messenger would perform Al-Witr with three, reciting nine Surah from the Mufassal in them, reciting three Surah in each Rak’ah with Say: Allah is One. At the end of them. Muhammad bin Sirin said: They would perform Al-Witr with five, with three, and with one Rak’ah, and they considered all of that to be good.

HADITH NO.8

Ibn Abbas narrated: Allah’s Messenger would recite during Al-Witr: Glorify the Name of your Lord the Most High’ and, ‘Say: O you disbelievers!’ and, ‘Say: Allah is One,’ in each Rak’ah.

HADITH NO.9

Abdul-Aziz bin Juraij said: I asked Aishah about what (recitation) Allah’s Messenger would perform Al-Witr with. She said: ‘In the first he would recite: Glorify the Name of your Lord the Most High, in the second: Say: O you disbelievers!, and in the third: Say: Allah is One and, Al-Mu’awwidhatain.’

HADITH NO.10

Zaid bin Aslam narrated from his father that: the Prophet said: Whoever sleeps past his Al-Witr then let him pray it in the morning.

HADITH NO.1

HADITH NO.8

HADITH NO.10

Zaid bin Aslam narrated from his father that: the Prophet said: Whoever sleeps past his Al-Witr then let him pray it in the morning.

HADITH NO.1 

He said, “Yahya ibn Yahya al-Laythi related to me from Malik ibn Anas from Ibn Shihab that one day Umar ibn Abdal-Aziz delayed the prayer. Urwa ibn az-Zubayr came and told him that al-Mughira ibn Shuba had delayed the prayer one day while he was in Kufa and Abu Masud al- Ansari had come to him and said, ‘What’s this, Mughira? Don’t you know that the angel Jibril came down and prayed and the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, prayed.’ Then he prayed again, and the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, prayed. Then he prayed again, and the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, prayed. Then he prayed again, and the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, prayed. Then he prayed again, and the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, prayed. Then Jibril said, ‘This is what you have been ordered to do.’ Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz said, ‘Be sure of what you relate, Urwa. Was it definitely Jibril who established the time of the prayer for the Messenger of Allah?’ ” Urwa said, “That’s how it was related to Bashir ibn Abi Masud al-Ansari by his father.”

HADITH NO.2

Urwa said that A’isha, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace used to pray asr while the sunlight was pouring into her room, before the sun itself had become visible (i.e. because it was still high in the sky).

HADITH NO.3

Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd ibn Aslam that Ata ibn Yasar said, “A man came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and asked him about the time of the subh prayer. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, did not answer him, but in the morning he prayed subh at first light. The following morning he prayed subh when it was much lighter, and then said, ‘Where is the man who was asking about the time of the prayer?’ The man replied, ‘Here I am, Messenger of Allah.’ He said,’The time is between these two.’ “

HADITH NO.4

Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya ibn Said from Amra bint Abd ar-Rahman that A’isha, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to pray subh and the women would leave wrapped in their garments and they could not yet be recognised in the darkness.”

HADITH NO.5

Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd ibn Aslam from Ata ibn Yasar and from Busr ibn Said and from al-Araj-all of whom related it from Abu Hurayra – that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “Whoever manages to do a raka of subh before the sun has risen has done subh in time, and whoever manages to do a raka of asr before the sun has set has done asr in time.”

HADITH NO.6 

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi’, the mawla of Abdullah ibn Umar, that Umar ibn al-Khattab wrote to his governors saying, “The most important of your affairs in my view is the prayer. Whoever protects it and observes it carefully is protecting his deen, while whoever is negligent about it will be even more negligent about other things.” Then he added, “Pray dhuhr any time from when the afternoon shade is the length of your forearm until the length of your shadow matches your height. Pray asr when the sun is still pure white, so that a rider can travel two or three farsakhs before the sun sets. Pray maghrib when the sun has set. Pray isha any time from when the redness in the western sky has disappeared until a third of the night has passed – and a person who sleeps, may he have no rest, a person who sleeps, may he have no rest. And pray subh when all the stars are visible and like a haze in the sky.”

HADITH NO.7

Yahya related to me from Malik, from his uncle Abu Suhayl from his father that Umar ibn al-Khattab wrote to Abu Musa saying that he should pray dhuhr when the sun had started to decline, asr when the sun was still pure white before any yellowness had entered it maghrib when the sun had set, and to delay isha as long as he did not sleep, and to pray subh when the stars were all visible and like a haze in the sky and to read in it two long suras from the mufassal.

HADITH NO.8 

Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa from his father that Umar ibn al-Khattab wrote to Abu Musa al-Ashari that he should pray asr when the sun was still pure white so that a man could ride three farsakhs (before maghrib) and that he should pray Isha during the first third of the night, or, if he delayed it, then up until the middle of the night, and he warned him not to be forgetful.

HADITH NO.9

Yahya related to me from Malik from Yazid ibn Ziyad that Abdullah ibn Rafi, the mawla of Umm Salama, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, asked Abu Hurayra about the time of the prayer. Abu Hurayra said, “Let me tell you. Pray dhuhr when the length of your shadow matches your height, asr when your shadow is twice your height, maghrib when the sun has set, isha in the first third of the night, and subh in the very first light of dawn,” i.e. when the dawn has definitely come.

HADITH NO.10

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ishaq ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Talha that Anas ibn Malik said, “We would pray asr and anyone who then went to the Bani Amr ibn Awf would find them praying asr.”

HADITH NO.1

Alqamah bin Qais said: “I was with Abdullah bin Masud in Mina, and Uthman took him aside. I was sitting near him. Uthman said to him: ‘Would you like that I marry you to a young virgin who will remind you of how you were in the past?’ When Abdullah saw that he did not say anything to him apart from that, he gestured to me, so I came and he said: ‘As you say that the Messenger of Allah said “O young men, whoever among you can afford it, let him get married, for it is more effective in lowering the gaze and guarding one’s chastity. Whoever cannot afford it, let him fast, for it will diminish his desire.” ‘ ”

HADITH NO.2

the Messenger of Allah said: “Marriage is part of my sunnah, and whoever does not follow my sunnah has nothing to do with me. Get married, for I will boast of your great numbers before the nations. Whoever has the means, let him get married, and whoever does not, then he should fast for it will diminish his desire.”

HADITH NO.3

the Messenger of Allah said: “There is nothing like marriage, for two who love one another.

HADITH NO.4

Sa’d said: “The Messenger of Allah disapproved of Uthman bin Maz’un’s desire to remain celibate; if he had given him permission, we would have gotten ourselves castrated.”

HADITH NO.5

the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) forbade celibacy. Zaid bin Akhzam added: “And Qatadah recited: ‘And indeed We sent Messengers before you (O Muhammad (ﷺ)), and made for them wives and offspring.’

HADITH NO.6

a man asked the Prophet(ﷺ): “What are the right of the woman over her husband?” He said: “That he should feed her as he feeds himself and clothe her as he clothes himself; he should not strike her on the face nor disfigure her, and he should not abandon her except in the house (as a form of discipline).” (Hassan)

HADITH NO.7

Sulaiman bin Amr bin Ahwas said: “My father told me that he was present at the Farewell Pilgrimage with the Messenger of Allah. He praised and glorified Allah, and reminded and exhorted (the people). Then he said: ‘I enjoin good treatment of women, for they are prisoners with you, and you have no right to treat them otherwise, unless they commit clear indecency. If they do that, then forsake them in their beds and hit them, but without causing injury or leaving a mark. If they obey you, then do not seek means of annoyance against them. You have rights over your women and your women have rights over you. Your rights over your women are that they are not to allow anyone whom you dislike to tread on your bedding (furniture), nor allow anyone whom you dislike to enter your houses. And their right over you are that you should treat them kindly with regard to their clothing and food.’ 

HADITH NO.8

that the messenger of Allah of said: “If I were to command anyone to prostrate to anyone else, I would have commanded women to prostrate to their husbands. If a man were to command his wife to move (something) from a red mountain to a black mountain, and from a black mountain to a red mountain, her duty is to obey to him.”

HADITH NO.9

Abdullah bin Abu Awfa said “When Muadh bin Jabal came from Sham, he prostrated to the Prophet who said: ‘What is this, O Muadh?’ He said: ‘I went to Sham and saw them prostrating to their bishops and patricians and I wanted to do that for you.’ The messenger of Allah said: ‘Do not do that. If I were to command anyone to prostrate to anyone other than Allah, I would have commanded women to prostrate to their husbands. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad! No woman can fulfill her duty towards Allah until she fulfills her duty towards her husband. If he asks her (for intimacy) even if she is on her camel saddle, she should not refuse.’ ”

HADITH NO.10

she heard Umm Salamah say: “I heard the Messenger of Allah say: ‘Any woman who dies when her husband is pleased with her, will enter Paradise.’
